Music is a part of me, and always will be. I’ve been making it for 28 years.
I started out on the classical guitar at the age of seven, progressing on to the electric guitar, and began playing in bands with friends in the mid 1980’s.
We played at youth clubs, school halls, friend’s parties and wherever else we could think of playing with our age restriction!
As time went on we started playing in Clubs and pubs around the south west of England. By this time, the early 1990’s, I had formed ‘Saturnines’ with two best friends.
We spent a lot of time writing and recording great songs…. However we didn’t release any material, which was a shame. It was a great time, and it was with the Saturnines that I really developed my song writing.
Since 1995 I have made music with another old school friend under the name ‘Monk & Canatella’.
As Monk & Canatella, we’ve played Glastonbury festival, headlined Ashton Court Festival in Bristol, toured all over Europe and also represented Great Britain at the G8 summit in Japan.
We have also been fortunate to have recorded at some of the best recording studios in the country, including Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, and Peter Gabriel's Real World.
Monk & Canatella have released about ten records including two albums and had our music appear on television advertisements and films worldwide.
I'm currently recording a collection of songs, which I plan to release later this year.
